We’ve now implemented Flickr search by usernames — you can go to the Flickr source tab and search for your username or anyone else to find photos.

Buffer your story to publish/share later on
I just finished my first storify but it's way too late (almost 1AM) to share it on my twitter or facebook. So I would have loved to have an option where I can schedule my storify: at what time of the day and (where) I want to share it. Thanx. Gracias :)
2 votesEveryone should integrate more with services like Buffer :)
Did you know that you don’t have to use our Share and Notify options at the time your story is published though? You can return to these any time, even if your story was published earlier.
To do so:
- Use the “Share” arrow in the top right of any published story
OR
- At the top of your story, click Distribute and then the Notify option
Otherwise, if you skip these steps, no one will be notified that there’s a new story on your Storify profile until the once-daily digests are sent to your followers later.
Hope this helps clarify some additional options here!

We do plan additional layout and design options in the future. For now, technically-savvy users can use CSS or our API to reformat stories any way they would like.

remove or mark duplicate tweets
often in long twitter discussions und cpmlex reply threads i often have duplicate tweets. a marker that shows these duplicate tweet would be very help. very tweet contains an ID so it should be an easy feature?!
3 votesHi everyone!
While there isn’t a specific “duplicate” filter, the Twitter search area can actually have Retweets taken out of it.
If people don’t use Twitter’s default retweet option (e.g. they use a Twitter client that simply adds “RT” or quotation marks around the same tweet), you can also organize all the tweets in your story by chronological order (the options at the top while editing your story). This is another quick way to spot/delete duplicate or unwanted tweets if you’re doing a final scan when creating stories.
Hope this helps!

Drag items into a timeline so you can convert the story into a movie
Only stacking items into a wall can be very boring. My idea is to change the layout by dropping social items in a timeline that converts your story into a movie.
5 votesHi there! While the story editor won’t convert embedded elements into movies, you might try the “slideshow” format we now have available. There are two ways to view this:
- Embed your story as a slideshow anywhere online that HTML is accepted. Just click “Distribute” above your story and choose the Slideshow template from the embed options there.
- View any current story on Storify by adding “/slideshow” onto the end of its URL!
Hope this helps

Allow an ongoing Twitter search after publishing?
Would it be possible to build a Twitter search into a story, so that it updates after publishing to show, eg, the last 3 tweets from a certain user/list, or with a specific hashtag or search terms? (Risky for the author I know, but would keep a story dynamic!)

Update-icon
It would be great if there would be an 'update icon' showing that parts of a story have been added since its last update. If you add new sources to a Storify over a day and frequently tweet about updates, it's hard to give people an quick idea of what's been updated. A simple icon (red alert or something) would help immensely.

Blogger
I'd like to be able to publish stories directly to my blog at blogger.com. I don't see an option for this presently.
22 votesHi there! While there isn’t a direct “publish to Blogger” button on Storify, our embed codes have been designed to work on most blogs or platforms that support HTML. This means you can copy/paste a Storify embed code into the correct area of your Blogger post to see it show up there.
To find the embed options and embed code for your Storify story:
- Publish the story on Storify
- Click “Distribute” at the top of the story
- Copy/paste the embed code provided there.Unfortunately, Blogger’s “Dynamic views” options notoriously do not support most HTML (including things like Storify embed codes). While your Storify embed code should work fine in a normal Blogger post, it will not display properly in a Dynamic view because of this.
Hope this helps clarify!

Automated stories based on selection rules
Create a rules engine to auto-select items into a story for you...sort of a custom magazine ala FlipBoard or Zite. Hook it up via a CSS feed and sync to your mobile device of choice for offline viewing.

Make it easier to search for media with broader location searches & time filtered.
I'm currently trying to track tweets around the world with hashtag #IPADay because today, Aug. 4, is IPADay.
I wanted to create a Storify story that started in Asian and Austrlian and track it's progress around the world. The trouble I'm having is that it is not clear that if I type Japan in location that *all* of the Tweets with #IPADay in Japan will appear. In fact, I'm seeing a few tweets that are not in Japan, these seem to be retweets.
I'm guessing it is a problem with having to specify a radius of 100km, which is not…

Fix bug when typing Japanese
I know it's not multi language site and may be I'm not even suppose to write story in Japanese.
But when I type in Japanese, I need to hit return in order to choose kanji. And when I do, characters duplicate as if they'd typed twice.
Very annoying.6 votes -

Hi! While this kind of cross-website integration would be great, it’s definitely not built into the Storify editor right now.
In case you haven’t already tried it, the Storify bookmarklet or Google Chrome extension are really good at “lifting” things like tweets off of Twitter and adding them to your Storify account or directly to published Storify stories you already have!
The Storify bookmarklet and Google Chrome extension can be found here:
Hope this helps!

insert anchors and allow bookmarks to them so that it is possible to organize a large storify for easy navigation
Once you've got a large number of items (lile 100) it becomes laborious to scroll through them all.... use anchors and links to allow for better organization and navigation.... might also integrate nicely with section breaks as suggested by another user if you could minimize each section separately.
5 votesOne temporary workaround for navigating through any stories with hundreds of embedded objects in them:
- Use the “collapsed view” button at the top of your story for easier navigation
- (Though somewhat unrelated here) the “sort” chronologically" buttons at the top of the story can help create a timeline from hundreds of tweets or other objects that were added quickly.
Otherwise, thanks for the suggestions!

Search twitter interactions, search back further in history, move over conversations, show who's RT'd
1/ Allow to search interactions on Twitter
2/ To show within the storyline the number of times something was RTd and who by.
3/ Move whole conversations to storyline with the click of a button
4/ To be able to search back generally much further back in time so that if unable to update regularly, you haven't lost the bility to storify.4 votesHi! Due to display requirements from Twitter, you won’t see customized additions or additional display info on a tweet embedded somewhere else (like in a Storify story). We’re definitely on top of any news or updates to these display requirements from Twitter, so can update the look and feel of tweets in stories if these change.
Otherwise, some somewhat related options currently in Storify:
- Use Storify search instead of Twitter search to find tweets that are getting the most interaction across all Storify stories (rather than just the top/most recent tweets around a keyword).
- Capture Twitter conversations easily with Storify’s integration into Tweetbot or by saving each tweet with a couple clicks using the Storify bookmarklet, available here: http://storify.com/tools
- Twitter searches on Storify are only allowed to display one week’s results, so to save older information, grab it with the bookmarklet or Google Chrome extension, which can…

For businesses hoping to embed their stories on a company blog or website, there are now a number of customization options on our Storify Business platform (http://storify.com/business)
• Remove the Storify branding and “header” information that’s at the top of stories embedded on your site.
• Customize the colors of fonts and links in embedded stories.
• Use the same fonts as your website or blog with Storify Business’ Typekit integration.
With customization options like these, it’s never been easier to embed Storify stories elsewhere and have them match the look and feel of your business’ branding.
Hope this helps!

Have "chapters" for a Storify story
Allow to link to certain sections of a story, like pointing to chapters in a book or sections of a newspaper. Would be helpful for long storifies.
6 votesHi!
While a dedicated “chapters” button isn’t in the story editor today, many people use this functionality with our existing features.
If I have multiple “parts” of a story on my Storify account, I can include a link or embed other stories at the top or bottom of each part.
For example, if someone was reading “Part 2” of my story, there could be a link at the top along the lines of “Click here to see Part 1: The Beginning” and a link at the bottom like “Click here to see Part 3: The next part”
Remember, all text in your story’s body can be hyperlinked to anything. Just use the “link” tool at the top of the story editor.
Hope this helps!

Show where the "read more" breaks are in draft mode, and let authors adjust content around them as they like.
